SUPPORTING EVERY CHILD: SEND & INCLUSION

At Meppershall Pre-School, we believe that every child deserves the best possible start. We are committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment where all children—regardless of their starting point—are supported to flourish and reach their full potential.

Our Approach to SEND

We understand that early intervention is key. By identifying and meeting individual needs as early as possible, we can ensure your child feels confident and happy in their learning journey.

How we support you and your child:

  • Collaborative Partnership: We work hand-in-hand with parents and carers, ensuring you are involved in every step of your child’s development.

  • Expert Liaison: We maintain strong professional relationships with the Central Bedfordshire Council Early Years SEND Team and other external specialists.

  • Tailored Learning: We create bespoke SEND Support Plans, attend specialist training, and adapt our environment to meet specific requirements.

  • Funding & Advocacy: We provide full support for EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and DLA applications, and we actively access additional funding for specialized 1-to-1 support or equipment when needed.

Meet our SENCO: If you have questions regarding your child’s development or our SEND provision, please speak with our Pre-School Manager to be put in touch with our lead Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (SENCOs).

Looked After Children (LAC)

We are proud to offer a welcoming and stable environment for Looked After Children. We work closely with virtual schools and social care teams to ensure these children receive the specific care and advocacy they deserve. We also offer funded places for eligible two-year-olds; please see our Funding Page for more details.

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

To support children further, those who are eligible for the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) will be supported to ensure gaps in their development are narrowed to provide them with the best possible start to their early years education.
